The Hunterville Hotel was built on this site in 1885. Following the arrival of the rail the name was changed to The Station Hotel. The original weather boards are still in place, though sadly covered with the stucco modernisation from the 1950s. A collection of historic photographs grace the walls of our small dining room.
Our aim since purchasing “The Station” in late 2003 was “to put the old girl right”. Much of the ground floor work is now complete including the gardens created from scratch. Work is complete in the upstairs accommodation wing. Five new bathrooms (two ensuite) have been installed and our Seven guest bedrooms are individually decorated to a very high standard. Rollaway beds offer more capacity for groups.
Guests can enjoy a stroll in the garden or a soak in the spa, perhaps after a round at the nearby Rangitira Golf course.
Play pool, table tennis, darts, cards, gaming machines or our TAB pod. SKY Sport live is on the big screen and there's a comfortable guest lounge for reading or TV watching.
Our restaurant is open seven nights for light snacks or dinner and breakfast is served at a time to suit.
We offer superb function facilities and catering.
We also offer four “cheap and cheerful” outside rooms for the backpacker market.
Groups are always welcome, please contact us to arrange a getaway package.
