Cableways is situated just over the hill from the Octagon. It was established in 1987 near the site of the steampowered wheelhouse that provided the power for cablecars which in the late 19th and early 20th centuries transported passengers to and from the Kaikorai and Roslyn suburbs. Pride of place out front is the 'No 93', an original restored Roslyn cablecar, where the saloons either side can be enjoyed by patrons for dining/drinking pleasure.
Cableways presents a friendly English-style bar with heaps of visual cablecar memorabilia around it's walls, on screen and incorporated with the Tramshed Bistro menu. 'Great food, beverage and themed atmosphere at an affordable price' is our point of difference-just two minutes over the hill from the Otagon.
